Supporting Temple B'nai Brith
Since its founding in the early 1900s, our community members have donated their funds , their skills, and their time to create a Jewish home in Somerville. While TBB relies primarily on dues for its yearly operating budget, it also depends on the generosity of the community to help pay staff salaries, provide programming for different groups, and to maintain our historic building. The board works with the office staff to run an annual Yom Kippur Appeal, a Passover Appeal, and send out an end of year gift reminder.
There are also members who follow the tradition of making yahrzeit memorial gifts, or honorary gifts to mark a special milestone. These gifts will be acknowledged to the family or the honoree, as specified, and also recognized in our newsletter.
Unrestricted gifts are highly appreciated, but donors may also opt for giving to restricted funds, including the Rabbi’s discretionary fund, the Kleiman religious school scholarship fund, and the kiddush fund.
If you are considering including the synagogue in your will or other planned gifts, please refer to our Legacy and Planned Gifts page.
Gifts to TBB are tax-deductible. Donations to Temple B'nai Brith, including dues, are tax-deductible. All gifts through ShulCloud's payment processing gateway receive an immediate acknowledgement, and acknowledgements for total giving each year are generated by the office each January/February.
TBB and the Board are very grateful for this financial support – gifts at every level make a difference!
